Optional Adoration (December 4)
Please join us in the Chapel for all day Adoration 7:45-3:00
Marian Monday (December 9)
Our weekly Rosary and Reconciliation will be enhanced for the season of Advent! After praying the Rosary together during early Dasher time, students may help to create a unique Marian art display by painting a mini canvas or two to honor the Blessed Mother.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass (December 12)
At this lively Mass, we will be celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe with a special Liturgy. Music and Mass will be bilingual in English and Spanish, and traditional Aztec dancers will help us present the gifts, in the Hispanic tradition to honor Our Lady. We will be welcoming Fr. John Tiede, S.J. from Marquette University for this celebratory day. Mass will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the Hansen Theatre.
Advent Reconciliation (December 13)
During both Dasher times, we will have several priests from around the Milwaukee area available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Students may choose to come to the Sisters’ building for confessions, a great way to help prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ.
Service Reflections – Dec. 9
Student must have done at least one meaningful service experience by Monday, Dec. 9. Theology classes will be in the chapel doing service reflections that day.
Advent at DSHA
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6
Through prayer and almsgiving, Campus Ministry will be focusing on the Peace of Christ as we journey through Advent this December. On Tuesday, December 3, we will have an Advent assembly to tell the student body more about the Advent offerings. We are partnering with Franciscan Peacemakers, a Milwaukee ministry that offers women a safe way to escape human trafficking, trauma, and the work on the streets. Shelly Roder will talk about the ministry and teach the students more about human trafficking in Milwaukee. The following day, there will be a sale during lunch of products from
Gifts for the Journey, a business within Franciscan Peacemakers, that re-trains women to be social entrepreneurs.
