Annual Stage Play

We’re so excited to spend the next few months digging into the language and comedy of Shakespeare and think we have an excellent cast to bring this timeless tale to life.

 

Rehearsals start right away after break on Monday, January 5 from 4:30-7 with a brief parent meeting to follow. We will spend the rest of that week rehearsing as a cast and playing acting games to get us all on the same page. Everyone should plan 4:30-6 that week. Subsequent weeks will involve scene work and blocking, and you will be called as needed. The schedule for the upcoming week will be released each Thursday.

 

You MUST start memorizing over break. You MUST start researching what your words mean over break. Please come into our first rehearsals with an idea of what you are saying and why you are saying it. It will be my job as director to coach you into making better or different decisions or to validate your initial decision. In a play that relies so heavily on words, it is your responsibility to make sure those words are internalized as soon as possible.

 

Scripts and schedules can be picked up on Monday on the prop table outside the Arena. Please also pick up a conflict calendar and return it over finals week.
